As the United States Naval Academy gets closer to graduation, it is time to plan your trip to watch the Blue Angels perform in Annapolis. On Friday, May 18, 2018, the Naval Academy begins their commissioning with a week full of ceremonies and long-standing traditions. On Friday, May 28th the class of 2018 will end their 4 year run at the Naval Academy with their graduation at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. It is an exciting time to visit Annapolis. There will be families across the U.S. visiting Annapolis and attending events hosted by local businesses, restaurants, and the Naval Academy itself to showcase the traditions and history of the U.S. Naval Academy. You will know when the Blue Angels arrive in Annapolis. Not only do they rattle and shake every office window or parked car as the scream through the Annapolis skyline. They bring an electrifying energy to the city and create an unofficial launch date to mark the end of the cold weather months and the start of a full season of boating, fishing, sailing, and much more! Crowds of people will populate the bridges, river banks, and USNA campus to watch the flight demonstrations of the Blue Angels. The best place to watch the Blue Angels is from the water. Street Parking and local parking garages do fill up quickly due to the popularity of the Blue Angels Airshow. If you can not find parking at any of the garages the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium is available to park at for $5. There is a free shuttle that provides transportation between the stadium and Naval Academy.
While in town be sure to walk the Naval Academy grounds on your own or through a guided tour. This beautiful campus is full of history, memorials, and breathtaking views of the Chesapeake Bay. Be sure to bring two forms of ID to access the Naval Academy.
